Scheduled scans and alerts

Keep pages current without re-scanning by hand: set a scan schedule per project and get an email when a checked fact or source changes.

A one-time audit fixes a snapshot. Scheduled scans keep the pages that matter current between audits, and alerts tell you when something changed so you do not have to re-read the report.

Setting a schedule

Schedules are set per project. Choose the interval that matches how fast the pages change:

  • Monthly for pages that quote prices, statistics, product details or regulatory facts
  • Quarterly for evergreen guides and explainers
  • Before known events such as a product release, a season or a legislative change, run the project once by hand in addition to the schedule

Each scheduled scan uses one credit per page, so schedule the pages that matter rather than the whole archive. A common setup is one project with the top 50 pages on a monthly schedule and the rest of the site scanned once or twice a year.

Alerts

When a scheduled scan finds a change (a claim that was confirmed and is now outdated, a source that was live and is now dead or drifted), CiteRanger sends an email to the addresses set on the project. The email names the page and the claim, so the fix can be assigned without opening the full report.

Alerts go to the people you choose per project. Agencies typically route each client’s alerts to the account manager for that client; content teams route them to the content owner who runs the monthly cycle.

Nothing changed

If a scheduled scan finds no changes, there is no alert. The scan is still recorded in the project, so you can show that the page was reviewed on that date.
