For more than a handful of pages, import them instead of pasting URLs one by one. CiteRanger accepts a sitemap URL or a CSV file and adds every page to a project.
Sitemap import
Enter the address of your XML sitemap (for example https://example.com/sitemap.xml or a sitemap index). CiteRanger reads it, lists the URLs it found and lets you choose which to add. Sitemap indexes that point to several sitemaps are followed.
Use this for a first full audit of a site, or for a section of it: many sites publish separate sitemaps for the blog, the help center or product pages.
CSV import
Upload a CSV with one URL per row. This is the right choice when the pages you want to check are not all in one sitemap, come from a Search Console export, or are a hand-picked list from an inventory.
The first column must contain the full URL including https://. Other columns are ignored.
Batch scans
Imported pages can be scanned all at once. Each page uses one credit, so a 300-page import uses 300 credits; the import itself is free, and you can scan a subset. Batches run in the background and you get an email when they finish.
Practical limits
- Only public pages can be scanned. URLs that require a login are skipped.
- Very large sites are best imported by section and scanned in priority order: traffic first, then link-earning pages, then the rest.
- Import once, then keep the project. Pages stay in the project for scheduled scans.
